This site is devoted to strategic design. I explore the possibilities that foresight, speculative and critical design, and trendwatching open. I also return to ideas as old as humanity itself: personal and social values. And economics — especially the economy of values and the gift.

Art and aesthetics infuse everything here, as I see them in ethical, political, and social terms.

Future skills. Programming and data science? Absolutely. Yet today, this field is largely focused on exploiting the world around us. It is a world of violence, profit at any cost, and the erosion of meaning. Critical, transgressive humanism is more urgent than ever, along with long-forgotten, even neglected ideas of ethics and sensitivity. And although Excel is my beloved friend, and data analysis can take me to the heights of excitement, I pursue what escapes parametrization. True insight arises only when mathematics and philosophy meet.
